How Rifqa works
Simple for the mosque. Simple for you.
Rifqa connects a mosque and its worshippers through one quiet Friday habit, so no one is forgotten.
Bringing your mosque onto Rifqa
For imams, and for anyone your mosque chooses to look after its page.
- 1
Register your mosque
An imam, or anyone your mosque chooses, registers it with Rifqa. We ask for the mosque's name, region, district, contacts and Sadaqa number. Please register while you are at the mosque, with location services on, so we capture the right place.
- 2
We verify it personally
Our team calls the person who registered and carries out careful checks to keep fake and misused listings out. This usually takes 3 to 7 days, depending on how quickly we can reach the imam or the person responsible.
- 3
Print your QR code
Once your mosque is approved, your dashboard generates a QR code you can download. Print it and place it at the entrances of the mosque.
- 4
Care for your community
Your dashboard gives you a clear picture of your congregation. When someone misses three Fridays in a row, you receive an SMS so you can check on them. Imams can update the mosque's name, Sadaqa number and contacts at any time, and the District Kadhi has read-only access.
Joining your mosque
No password to remember. Just your phone number and your Friday.
- 1
Sign in with your phone number
Use your MTN or Airtel number. We send a code by SMS, you enter it, and you are in. There is no password to remember.
- 2
Find your mosque
Choose "I am a worshipper", pick your region and district, then search for your mosque or browse the mosques in your district. We also ask for your gender and age group, used for statistics only.
- 3
Scan at Jumuah
Open Rifqa, tap Register Jumuah, and scan the QR code at the entrance. You can scan before or after the prayer, whichever suits you. Keep location services on so your scan goes through smoothly.
- 4
Give, if you wish
Your mosque's Sadaqa number appears on your dashboard, so you can give without first going to the mosque. Rifqa only shows the number. We never handle the money.
A gentle check in, never a watch
If someone misses three Fridays in a row, Rifqa sends a private SMS to that person and to their imam. It is a reminder that someone cares, nothing more.
- Sent only after three Fridays in a row.
- Goes to the worshipper and to the imam.
- An imam cannot browse anyone's attendance history.
Your privacy, plainly
Location is never stored
We check it for a moment when you scan, then let it go.
Counts, not histories
Gender and age group are used for statistics only, and only the imam and the District Kadhi can see them.
No selling, no ads
Your information is used to run Rifqa and for nothing else.
What you need today
A smartphone
Rifqa runs on smartphones for now.
An internet connection
You need to be online to sign in, scan and use Rifqa.
Location services on
Turn them on when you register a mosque and when you scan.
Our plan, in shaa Allah
Rifqa for every phone, even without internet
We want Rifqa to reach every Muslim, including those with basic phones and those with no steady internet. Our plan is to support basic phones through USSD codes and to make Rifqa work offline. This is work ahead of us, not something available today. May Allah make it easy and bring it to pass.
